Who this is for
Other “Ascension Counseling” groups exist in other states. This one is Natasha’s Virginia practice: adults, individual therapy, telehealth, and the personal-development half of ACPD.
Individual outpatient therapy for adults. Sessions are virtual, so you can meet from home anywhere in the state.
Goal-oriented growth alongside clinical care — life transitions, identity, and the next chapter, not only crisis management.
A calm, non-shaming place to start if this is new. Natasha has a particular heart for people taking that first step.
Natasha also advocates for the BIPOC community and can provide optional faith-informed counseling for Christian clients.
Specialties
These are the three areas Natasha lists first on her Psychology Today profile — the concerns people most often bring to a first session.
Worry, racing thoughts, restlessness, and the body-level tension that comes with trying to hold everything together.
Job changes, relationship shifts, parenting seasons, grief, and the mood or identity questions that follow a big change.
Burnout, irritability, sleep disruption, and the sense that coping skills that used to work are no longer enough.
Approach
Natasha uses an integrative approach — often including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and aspects of narrative, strengths-based, and positive psychology work. Together you look at how thoughts and behavior interact, then build a plan toward a more livable next chapter.
Care is tailored to you — not a one-size protocol. The relationship itself is part of the work: supportive, honest, and aimed at skills you can use outside the session.
We look at how thoughts, feelings, and behavior interact, then build a plan toward the life you want — including distress-tolerance and emotion-regulation skills when those are needed.
Narrative, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive work sit alongside evidence-based methods. Faith-informed counseling is available when you want it.
Community
Alongside clinical hours, ACPD offers mental health education for schools, churches, workplaces, and community groups.
